Internet Marketing – Internet Marketing is Suitable for Shy Marketers

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Those who have tried marketing in the offline world would realize the many challenges that have to be surmounted on an almost daily basis. brbrA very important one is to make the call on the prospective customer.brbr At the beginning of ones career as a salesman, there is usually that inherent fear on what to expect from the sales call on the prospect. brbrAs one encounters rejection, which is typical of the sales profession, some take it personal and eventually give up.brbr They believe the sales profession is for those who are bold and daring those who are regarded as extroverts, outspoken, sociable.brbr Fortunately, the skills and qualities required to market in the offline world can be learned if one develops the right attitude. brbr For those who still feel skeptical on this possibility, I have good news for you: brbrthe Internet addresses the challenge of fear of customer rejection in that it is suitable for those who are customer shy and do not want to experience the disappointment associated with customer rejection. brbr The Internet allows you to market in one or a combination of several ways without meeting the customer face to face. Some of these ways are: brbr (1) E-mail: this is one way of reaching prospective customers. It involves one having a prospective or existing customers base list. It usually takes time to build however, if one decides to do it on his or her own. brbrThe advantage of this option is that one can use the list for future purposes and earn a recurrent income with those who buy again and again since a relationship will have been established from previous transactions from satisfied customers. brbrIt would also require you having a website and a sign-up form where your prospects elect to join to get your newsletters and/or offer(s). brbrThis is one of the most important means through which successful Internet brbrMarketers operate what is known as the opt-in-list marketing. There are also companies that have a list of prospects that they sell to clients to use for their marketing. You could also get this on the Internet with careful search. brbr (2) Conference Calls: In this method, the prospect is introduced to the opportunity over the phone and at times it involves video where both parties see each other. brbrOne can also use this method to make a presentation to multiple clients who are interested in the sales offer where a prior appointment has been gotten to make the presentation. brbr(3) Online Chat: the beauty of this method is that you get to chat online real time with your prospects and a deal could be sealed in the process. brbrAgain, you dont get to meet the client face to face but you could use a web camera (or webcam for short) to see the client who would also see you if he or she has one. brbrWhatever offer you have is presented by typing over the keyboard and the client responds in the same way too. brbrFor a new person, it may be tedious having to type the information necessary to get the client interested but with time you get used to it and increase your speed of typing. brbrAlternatively, you can have a website that has all the full details of your offer and after getting to know the client and make your offer, you then refer them to the website that has the details, while not forgetting to leave your contact information (e-mail address, telephone, etc) on your website through which the prospect can get back to you. brbr(4) Voice Chat: This method is similar to the online chat in that you are interacting with the client in real time but without using the keyboard to type – voice is used like in a telephone conversation. brbrAgain, you can use a webcam to see the client while making your presentation. brbrThe beauty of Internet marketing using any of the above methods is that whether the client is interested in your product or not will be seen in their response but you are not there to witness their reactions and so you do not feel humiliated if the presentation ends in a rejection. brbrSo you can continue to transact your business over the net without any fear knowing fully well that the client may as well be a thousand miles away from you but you are dealing with him or her either online real time or via e-mail.

Internet Marketing – Internet Marketing – High Tech Direct

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Almost everyone has received unsolicited offers in the mail. These are what many call junk mail, and more often than not, end up in the circular file, more commonly known as the trash can. But anyone who is considering Internet marketing as either a part-time or full-time business may want to at least give a moment’s pause before the big toss. Better still would be to study and reflect on the material you’ve received, and in some cases, store it in a real file for future use. The reason is because Internet marketing today is, in reality and when done properly, a high-tech enhancement and expansion of old-fashioned direct mail. Those sales letters that arrive in your mailbox aren’t randomly sent there, nor are they sent to everyone in your country or state. Instead, successful direct mail operators rent carefully selected mailing lists. These lists may be buyers of a particular product, people who’ve expressed interest in topics and products through surveys and registration forms, magazine subscribers, people who live in a certain postal code, and so on. The underlying principle is that the direct mailers target a select audience to receive their offer, and a certain percentage of the recipients, known as the response rate, will then accept that offer. Then through continual testing and refinement of the sales letter, pricing, terms, colors, and other variables, direct marketers work to improve their response rates over time. Marketing on the Internet is much the same. The bottom line is that marketers need to find a group of people with similar tastes and interests, find out what they want, then sell it to them, just as the direct mail marketers do. In direct mail, as on the Internet, it’s certainly possible, and in fact probable, that some marketing campaigns will fail. But, once you’ve sent out direct mail pieces, that postage is lost forever. On the Internet however, you can quickly assess and halt losing campaigns until you make adjustments. Or, as Robert G. Allen puts it, On the Internet, you can fail fast for free!  Internet technology has now made it possible to reach a new, worldwide audience, at much lower costs than direct mail postage allows. Your prospects are online, surfing, searching, reading, and hopefully shopping, around the clock. And the Internet itself has created new markets, such as the need for broadband connections, networking equipment, instructional material, and yes, even Internet marketing information products!  Perhaps the most important new capability the Internet offers marketers is the sheer speed at which marketing campaigns can be launched, tested, revised, and tested again, until maximum response rate is achieved. Web sites can be very fast and easy to set up, and through pay-per-click search engines, visitors (known as traffic) can be directed towards your marketing site literally within minutes. Software allows for instantaneous tracking of clicks, visitor paths through a web site, time spent on each page, and hundreds of other factors. Software can help marketers follow up with their leads (through autoresponders), and can, through email lists and RSS syndication, also foster relationship marketing, much more so than mailed catalogs and letters in the past.  For marketers, the Internet is the still-new frontier where high-tech, old fashioned marketing, low costs, and a worldwide audience converge to create new opportunities for those willing to look for them.

Internet Marketing – The Top Five Things I Learned In My First Year of Internet Marketing

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

1. The World Wide Web is loaded with vast amounts of information to get you started and keep you going in your business whether it is on line or off line.  I know, big surprise, huh? Actually, though, most people are not aware of just how much information is literally at their finger tips, and the vast majority of it is free.brbrYou dont always have to spend hard-earned cash on the latest software program, how-to e-book, membership only forum or newsletter in order to get the information you need. Granted, there is a lot of good stuff out there that is worth an investment, but never neglect first looking for it for free.  The most valuable tool in my quest for success in internet marketing has been none other than that now-gone-public monolith, Google.  Virtually anything I have needed to know, needed an opinion on, or needed to know how to do, I have found by Googling for the web site that has the information Im looking for. And as a result, my confidence in finding what I need on Google in relation to my business has helped in other areas of my life, too (like the time it helped this Dad look like a genius when, at the last minute, he came up with a killer idea for his daughters third grade science fair!)brbr2. A good, quality autoresponder service is a godsend.  And I personally feel I am with one of the best. Ive got it set up with the basics V it takes care of my newsletter subscription for me, sends out my bonuses to my new subscribers, sends out my newsletters every two weeks, lets me send out a broadcast message to anyone or everyone on my subscriber list with a few clicks of the mouse, keeps track and alerts me when someone new subscribes and where they came from, how many subscribers I have and their names and email addresses, notifies me whenever someone unsubscribed V the list goes on and on!  It automates a vast amount of the daily work involved in my business which frees me up to take care of other important things like marketing my products.  And its surprisingly easy to set up, especially if you do go with a quality, reputable company that provides excellent customer support, tutorials, and clearly written, easy-to-understand instructions.  I rank it right up there with the discovery of the vaccine for polio.  Okay, that may be pushing it a bit, but this particular tool is priceless, and an absolute necessity if you want to be successful online.brbr3. Creating an awesome looking web site is harder than you may think.  Okay, it could be that Im just a dunce, but I nearly got into fist fights with my stupid HTML editor program trying to get it to do the most basic things. And it was supposed to allow the complete novice create a beautiful web site.  Yeah, right. I could actually FEEL myself growing older as I fought with the thing and spent hours trying to do super-sophisticated things like, oh, say change the background color of my web page.  If I were to do it over again, I think Id probably just go with a basic template, add my material to it, and call it good.. No matter how beautiful your site or how great your product is, youll sell NOTHING if you don’t have traffic.  No kidding? you say? Hey, Im here to tell you that I, for one, thought that it made perfect sense that if I put my awesome looking web site out on the World Wide Web where absolutely anyone in the world with a computer could access it, the law of averages says that even if a TEENY percentage of the worlds population finds it, Id be rolling in the cash.  Okay, pretty naive, I know, but I’m willing to bet Im not the only newbie who has thought that way.brbrThe bottom line is that it didnt take me long to realize that I needed TRAFFIC! And the more traffic I could draw to my web site, the greater the likelihood that Id be successful.  And its amazing how quickly, once you realize that sufficient traffic is the only thing between you and success, you can educate yourself on the best and most effective and efficient ways to generate that traffic.  So how do I generate traffic? Sorry, you’ll have to read about that in a future article brbr5. Any Guru who says you can become incredibly wealthy in no time at all (or anything even remotely similar to that) is flat out lying.  And they know it. Im a pretty good copywriter, but when I was first contemplating getting into this business, Im telling you, there were some web pages owned by so-called gurus that had me frothing at the mouth and itching to whip out my credit card and buy their course/e-book/software and get it Fed-Exd to my house the next day!  They were true experts who prey on the wants, desire, needs, and fantasies of others in a slick and deceptively convincing way. The good ones can get your heart pounding and make you envision all sorts of riches if you’ll just send them a little money to make it happen.  However, true success in any business takes time, patience, and perseverance, and rarely happens overnight. Save your money, take advantage of the vast wealth of free information out there, and then get back to work on that computer!
